Named after the film of the same name, A Page of Madness shifts between the impossible madness of the seen and unseen. The original film is set in an asylum, tracing the progressive hysteria of its patients and their 'carers'. A protagonist in the film dances wildly in her cell, and as this is seen by other patients, they are unleashed into frenzy. Dance extends itself beyond the steely bars of oppression, a desire which cannot be captured. Those deemed mad are often hastily restrained and institutionalised, yet they are also often revered as saints and prophets. When madness calls, how do we answer?
